Anna Maria Pasteria, a beloved Italian restaurant in Uptown, was severely damaged after a driver crashed into its facade Sunday night. The incident occurred when a 27-year-old man ran a red light, collided with another car, and crashed into the restaurant, causing extensive damage to the interior.

The crash resulted in broken windows, destroyed furniture, and other items being damaged. Fortunately, no one else was injured during the incident. In response to the devastating event, the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with the expenses of repairing the restaurant and supporting the six employees who are currently out of work. The goal of the fundraiser is set at $20,000 to cover costs not covered by insurance.

Owner Anna Spinelli expressed her reluctance to ask for help but emphasized the extent of the damage caused by the crash. In order to reopen as soon as possible, Anna Maria Pasteria will need new signs, windows, flooring, furniture, and other repairs. Despite this setback, Spinelli remains hopeful that her beloved establishment will be able to continue serving its patrons soon.

Anna Maria Pasteria has been a staple in the Uptown community since it was opened by sisters Anna and Maria Spinelli in 1989. The sisters built a loyal customer base in Uptown and have been serving delicious Italian cuisine for decades. With support from the community through donations and volunteering efforts
