In recent years, Andwell Health Partners, formerly known as Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice, has undergone a rebranding process to better reflect the range of services it offers. The Maine-based company originally started as a home health provider in 1966 but has since expanded to include hospice, palliative, behavioral health, and community care services.

The organization’s growth and evolution necessitated a new name that accurately represents its mission as the largest independent, nonprofit, home and community-based healthcare organization in Maine. Debra Fournier, the board chair of Andwell, explained that the new name, Andwell Health Partners, maintains a connection to the original Androscoggin brand while conveying a focus on wellbeing and the idea of dwelling in the comfort of home-based care.

In recent years, Andwell has entered the behavioral health market with the acquisition of Care & Comfort, opened a palliative care center in Portland, Maine and expanded its services to include maternal and child health, mobile wound care therapy and caregiver support. CEO Ken Albert emphasized that while the name has changed, the core values of Andwell remain the same. The organization is dedicated to providing high-quality compassionate healthcare services and aims to be a lifelong partner in promoting health and wellness for all.
