The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been a dominant force in the film industry since the release of “Iron Man” in 2008, despite its declining popularity. However, Marvel had made attempts to popularize its characters in the 70s and 80s with productions like “The Incredible Hulk,” “Spider-Man,” “Dr. Strange,” and “Captain America,” but these attempts were not as successful as they hoped.

If those early attempts had achieved the success that the MCU now enjoys, it is difficult to say what would have happened next. Perhaps other studios would have followed suit and created their own comic book adaptations, or maybe the MCU would have continued to dominate with its unique blend of action, humor, and heartfelt storytelling.

One can only speculate on what might have been if those early attempts had been successful. Instagram user @robertobagg10collection shared a collection of AI-generated images depicting what the cast of this alternate universe MCU might have looked like. Some of these casting choices are quite inspired, such as Michael J. Fox as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Bruce Lee as Shang-Chi. Others are less conventional choices but still intriguing to consider, like Linda Hamilton as Elektra and Martin Sheen as Daredevil.
