Amir Khan, the former light-welterweight world champion, rose to fame after winning a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Now, at the age of 37, Khan is in talks to fight on a Misfits card, created by YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI and promotional partners Wasserman Boxing. The organization focuses on sports entertainment and has gained attention for featuring social media stars and celebrities in boxing bouts.

After serving a two-year doping ban that expired after his fight against Kell Brook in February 2022, Khan is now free to negotiate fights. He has expressed interest in facing KSI and YouTuber Jake Paul in the future. However, there is controversy around Misfits and the rise of ‘crossover boxing’, with some critics arguing that it damages the integrity of the sport.

Misfits has separated from the Professional Boxing Association, and it is uncertain which body will oversee potential Misfits cards featuring Khan. Previously, Khan’s fights were overseen by the British Boxing Board of Control, and he held a boxing license with them. KSI won his pro boxing debut against Logan Paul in 2019 but lost to Tommy Fury in 2023. Khan retired in May 2022 with a record of 34 wins and 6 losses and tested positive for ostarine in 2022 but maintained that it was unintentional. An independent tribunal ruled in his favor, citing no evidence of deliberate misconduct.
