Jayanth Sashi has been offering eyebrow and facial services on the 16th Street Mall for five years. However, she has found that business never really picked up after COVID hit because the area is difficult to access. The ongoing construction work on the mall has significantly impacted her income, with walk-in traffic drastically decreasing due to the challenges of parking and accessibility.

Sashi attributes much of the hardship to the ongoing construction projects, which have left many storefronts empty and other businesses struggling to survive. She and her fellow business owners are seeking relief as they navigate these challenges brought on by construction disruptions and reduced foot traffic in the area.

Adding to their frustrations, RTD has closed the light rail stations near Sashi’s shop for maintenance work on the lines, leaving businesses like hers without easy access for customers. With hopes of a busy tourist season to help them stay afloat, businesses are eagerly waiting for a return of visitors to the area.

Despite these challenges, Sashi remains hopeful that with time, business will pick up again once visitors feel safe enough to venture out and explore new places. In the meantime, she continues to offer her services and do what she can to keep her business afloat during these challenging times.
