AMD’s “scandal” that caused a stir among gamers is making a comeback with Anti Lag 2. In response to the concerns raised by anti-cheat systems, AMD has made significant changes to the technology to ensure a better experience for players. Unlike its predecessor, Anti Lag 2 is no longer a driver-internal solution but an in-game selection.

Anti Lag technology works by controlling the CPU speed to synchronize with the GPU, reducing the workload queued up in the CPU and improving response times from input to display. By integrating this technology into games, communication between game code and the driver is enhanced, resulting in improved image synchronization and lower latency compared to the previous driver-internal solution.

Valve’s popular game Counter Strike 2 is the first game to benefit from Anti Lag 2 technology. Players of CS2 can now activate this feature in-game, leading to better response times and overall gameplay experience. To use this technology, players will need AMD Radeon™ RX 5000 series graphics or above and AMD Ryzen™ 6000 series processors with Radeon™ graphics or above.

The new Anti Lag 2 technology has the potential to make a significant impact, especially in shooter games. Its improved performance and reduced latency could enhance the overall gaming experience for players. We look forward to seeing how this technology will be received and its impact on gaming in the future.
