A warning from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been issued to the public regarding a variety of products manufactured by Diamond Shruumz, which claim to contain a proprietary blend of mushrooms. These products, including chocolate bars, cones, and gummies, have been linked to severe acute illnesses in multiple states.

In Indiana, health officials are currently investigating the cause of these illnesses, which may be related to the consumption of Diamond Shruumz brand products. As of June 24th, 2024, there have been a total of 39 reported illnesses from 20 states resulting in 23 hospitalizations. Three confirmed cases have been reported in Indiana, although no deaths have been reported yet.

Individuals who fell ill after consuming Diamond Shruumz brand products experienced a range of severe symptoms such as seizures, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, agitation, abnormal heart rates changes in blood pressure nausea and vomiting. It is important to note that these products can be purchased online or at various retail locations throughout the country including gas stations smoke/vape shops or stores that carry hemp-derived or CBD products. If someone falls ill after consuming these products they should seek medical attention immediately and report their symptoms to the Indiana Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222. Additionally callers should inform Poison Control that they have recently consumed Diamond Shruumz brand chocolate bars cones or gummies.
