Alain Khoury, a pioneer in the advertising industry in Lebanon and the Arab world, passed away in Beirut at the age of 82. Khoury was known for his vision and leadership, which were instrumental in shaping the advertising landscape in the Middle East and beyond.

Under Khoury’s guidance, Impact BBDO grew into a powerhouse in the region and played a key role in enhancing the global creative reputation of the BBDO network and Omnicom MENA. He understood the power of storytelling and effective communication, leaving behind a legacy reflected in numerous impactful campaigns and the professionals he mentored.

Khoury’s journey in advertising began with a degree in graphic design from the National Higher School of Architecture and Visual Arts in Brussels in 1966. He then taught advertising at the Lebanese University of Fine Arts, where he influenced and shaped generations of designers and advertisers. In 1968, he founded the prominent advertising agency “Publi-Graphics” in Lebanon.

Not content with his achievements, Khoury went on to establish “IMPACT Advertising” in Beirut in 1971, where he led the agency for forty years. His commitment to excellence transformed Impact BBDO into a regional advertising group, representing global, regional, and local brands. In 2011, Khoury retired, leaving a lasting impact on the advertising world and everyone who worked with him.
