The Italian economy has the potential to experience significant growth thanks to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to a report by Accenture titled “Strategies for enhancing the Italian brand and country system,” presented at the XX Forum of the Leonardo Committee, Generative AI could contribute significantly to the growth of Made in Italy companies and increase GDP.

By 2030, implementing Generative AI could generate an additional 80 billion euros for the “extended” Made in Italy sectors, with 50 billion euros attributed to increased added value. Of this amount, 15 billion euros would come from traditional Made in Italy sectors, and 35 billion from other sectors that could benefit from the brand. Additionally, around 30 billion euros, with 20 coming from “new” sectors, could be generated through strengthening the “Made in Italy brand” through systemic policies.

The study highlights that investments in technology, particularly in AI, will be crucial for bridging existing gaps in various sectors and showcasing the “Italian genius” throughout the value chain. Sergio Dompe’, President of the Leonardo Committee, emphasized that technological advancements present new challenges and opportunities for Italian companies, highlighting the importance of embracing AI to drive growth and innovation.
