During the Samsung AI Days event, Samsung unveiled the latest findings from a Trend Radar research project on “Italians and Artificial Intelligence.” The study was conducted in partnership with Human Highway, a market research institute that specializes in analyzing the impact of technology and the digital world on human relationships.

According to the analysis, 58% of Italians do not have a clear understanding of what AI is, but they see its potential benefits in both the present and future. GenZ is the most knowledgeable generation about AI, followed by Millennials and GenX, while Boomers have the least understanding. Despite this lack of technical knowledge, there is a general sense of trust towards AI in Italy, with 65% of Italians believing that it will improve their lives.

The majority of Italians see AI as the future, an innovation that will simplify technology use in daily life and become a valuable ally. Specifically, they expect it to contribute to energy conservation and time management, making lives more sustainable and efficient. While only 25% of Italians use AI in their daily work or study routines, common tasks include information search, data management, content creation, and translation support.

Regarding entertainment and social interactions, over 26% of Italians believe that AI plays a significant role in enhancing their leisure time activities such as music, travel, TV streaming podcasts and gaming. Different generations have varying preferences for AI applications on different devices – smartphones are widely recognized for their usefulness across all age groups while laptops are preferred for productivity-related tasks by GenZ.

In conclusion, Italians view AI as a valuable tool for improving various aspects of their lives – from work productivity to leisure activities. The increasing reliance on AI in everyday tasks and its potential to personalize user experiences indicates a positive attitude towards technology among Italians of all ages.
