Afghanistan secured the final spot in the T20 World Cup by beating Bangladesh in their last game of the Super Eight stage, which resulted in Australia being knocked out of the tournament. The four semi-finalists of the T20 World Cup 2024 are now confirmed.

Group 2 winners South Africa will face Afghanistan in the first semi-final, while Group 1 leaders India will take on England in the second semi-final. The first semi-final is scheduled to take place at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba on Wednesday, June 26, at 8:30pm local time. The second semi-final will be held at Guyana’s Providence Stadium on Thursday, June 27, at 10:30am local time.

India and England were allotted the second semi-final slot well before the tournament began, regardless of their Super Eight standings. The playing conditions for the two semi-finals differ, with only one day gap between each match and no reserve day for either team.

In case of rain interruptions during either game, both teams must bat a minimum of 10 overs per inning for it to constitute a complete match. If a game is abandoned due to poor weather or any other reason, then the team that finished higher in their respective Super Eight groups (India and South Africa) will progress to the final. The final will be broadcasted live on ESPNcricinfo app.
