Adrian Meronk expressed his disappointment at not being chosen as a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup last year. This played a significant role in his decision to sign with the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit, he admitted. The rejection made his choice to join LIV easier and allowed him to focus more on himself and less on other people’s opinions, he added.

Despite ranking ahead of Nicolai Højgaard in various metrics, including Europe’s Ryder Cup points list and the Official World Golf Ranking, Meronk was not selected for the team. He was taken aback by the news and described his emotions as shock, sadness, and anger. Despite this setback, Meronk is now two events into his LIV career as a member of the Cleeks. His debut was lackluster, with a 47th place finish out of 54 players at the season opener. However, he remains optimistic about his future and is still aspiring to play in the Ryder Cup. Meronk plans to work hard on his game and give his best performance in hopes of making the team someday.
