As AC Milan looks to strengthen its attacking lineup this summer, a potential loan deal with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku could be a key piece of the puzzle. However, if such a deal were to come to fruition, it would mean that Milan would have to forego signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that bringing in both strikers, as well as other targeted players for different areas of the squad, would not be feasible for Milan due to financial constraints. Nonetheless, the Rossoneri have initiated discussions with Lukaku’s agent and Chelsea regarding the possibility of a loan deal.

Lukaku has previously had successful loan spells in Serie A with Inter and Roma after signing for Chelsea. With Enzo Maresca now taking charge at Chelsea, there is no indication that the club plans to keep Lukaku long-term. This makes a move elsewhere likely.

Last season, Lukaku impressed with Roma, scoring 21 goals across all competitions. However, his future with the team remains uncertain due to financial constraints. If Milan were to sign him on loan from Chelsea this summer, it would pose a dilemma for manager Paulo Fonseca as he would have to manage both players’ playing time and keep them content within the squad.
