The Abu Dhabi World Judo Championships have seen some thrilling developments recently. On the fourth day of the championships, Mr Jean-Luc Rougé was awarded the prestigious judo 10th dan by IJF President Mr Marius Vizer. This marked a significant milestone in Rougé’s career.

The -70kg category final took place between Margaux Pinot and Marie Eve Gahie, both of whom were from France. The match went into golden score, with Pinot ultimately coming out on top and securing the World title. Both athletes were presented with their medals by His Excellency Mohammed Bin Thaaloob Alderei, President of the UAE Judo Federation.

In the -90kg category, Nemanja Majdov from Croatia faced off against Goki Tajima from Japan in a hard-fought battle that went into golden score. Tajima emerged victorious and was awarded his medal by Mrs Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, the 4th President of Croatia & IOC Member.

The -78kg category final saw Anna-Maria Wagner from Germany claim her second red backpatch by defeating Italy’s Alice Bellandi. Wagner was awarded her gold medal by CEO of MET Group Chairman, Mr Benjamin Lakatos.

Overall, the championships in Abu Dhabi were filled with excitement as athletes celebrated their qualifications for the Paris Olympic Games. The atmosphere was electric as competitors showcased their skills on the world stage.
