Absurd Ventures, the media company founded by Dan Houser, has announced its focus on creating narrative worlds, characters, and stories across various mediums. The company was officially announced in June with a focus on creating engaging content across multiple platforms.
In November, news broke of Absurd Ventures’ first two projects: American Caper and A Better Paradise. These projects will start as a graphic novel and podcast before expanding to different formats and platforms. Additionally, a recent job listing on the company’s website reveals that they are also working on an open world action-adventure game that aims to offer top-notch combat and third-person action across multiple game modes.
It is still unclear whether the game will be based on previous projects announced by Absurd Ventures or if it will be something entirely new. The company is currently hiring for various high-level positions like art director, lead designer, senior producer, and technical director, indicating that the game is still in the early stages of development.
With experienced minds like Michael Unsworth, former vice president of writing at Rockstar Games known for his work on Red Dead Redemption and other titles, joining Absurd Ventures along with Lazlow Jones, a former writer and producer at Rockstar Games, the company is poised to create innovative and engaging content across multiple platforms.
