The Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina in Saudi Arabia will host the 2024 Youth Match Racing World Championship and the 2024 Women’s Match Racing World Championship from November 29 to December 8. This will be the first time World Sailing has organized an event in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant moment for the growing sport in the region.

The Red Sea region, home to nine million people, presents vast potential for the development of event programs that will benefit people across the Gulf, Africa, and beyond. Located on the Red Sea coast, Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina recently hosted the America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta for the 37th America’s Cup cycle.

World Sailing President Quanhai Li stated that this opportunity will help accelerate the development of sailing in the region, which is known as one of the fastest-growing sporting markets in the world. David Graham, World Sailing’s CEO, emphasized that selecting Jeddah as the venue for these championships is an important step in the organization’s mission to expand the sport globally.
