Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke to the public on Constitution Day, emphasizing the need for a new Constitution that reflects the beliefs and values of the Armenian people. He stated that the current Constitution is in conflict with the citizens of Armenia, who feel disconnected from its rules. Pashinyan highlighted the importance of creating a Constitution that is closely tied to its makers, the citizens of the country.

President Vahagn Khachatryan and National Assembly President Alen Simonyan also sent congratulatory messages on Constitution Day, reiterating that power in Armenia belongs to the people. They vowed to work towards creating prosperous and dignified lives for citizens. The United States Embassy in Armenia also extended their congratulations on Constitution Day, marking July 5 as the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution in 1995. Over time, it has been amended twice through referendums. Pashinyan’s call for a new Constitution earlier this year sparked debates and discussions within government and external sources.
