The Arizona Cardinals are 96 days away from their season opener against the Buffalo Bills on September 8th. This number has been worn by defensive lineman Naquan Jones, who was signed late last season. In 2023, Jones appeared in four games for the Cardinals, collecting eight total tackles in 104 defensive snaps after playing eight games with the Tennessee Titans.

Looking back over the years, it’s clear that the Cardinals have had players who made a significant impact wearing the No. 96 jersey. Linebacker Kareem Martin spent four seasons with the team and was known for his solid play on special teams, recording over 300 special teams snaps twice. He also provided depth on the defensive line and edge, starting 10 games in his final season in 2017.

Another player who wore the No. 96 jersey for the Cardinals was Clyde Simmons in 1994-95. Simmons made an impact with 17 sacks and six forced fumbles during his time with the team. However, Martin was the last player who had a fairly impactful performance while wearing that number.
