Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum have been recognized as Santa Maria’s businesses of the quarter for April through June 2024. Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service, located at 320 Oak St. in Santa Maria, was founded by Daniel Keuma in 1991 after he relocated from Hawaii. Over the years, the company has grown from a one-truck operation to seven trucks and eight employees, offering services to both residential and commercial customers. They are also actively involved in community events and charities.

On the other hand, Trojan Petroleum, located at 1665 West Betteravia Rd. in Santa Maria, was founded 43 years ago by Bud and Ebba Richards. The company has become a full-service petroleum distributor that specializes in delivering fuel to farm locations and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. In addition to being a petroleum distributor, they also operate as an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site with 15 delivery trucks. They are members of various local civic groups.

The recognition program is designed to honor two local small businesses chosen by the Chamber on four occasions throughout the year. To be eligible for this recognition, businesses must meet certain criteria such as having fewer than 20 employees, being in operation for at least five years, being physically located within the city limits, and being a member of the local Chamber of Commerce in good standing. This recognition provides these chosen businesses with valuable exposure while reminding the community of the unique, diverse, and long-standing businesses that call Santa Maria home.

If you want to watch the full ceremony honoring these businesses, you can tune into the City’s livestream of their Tuesday City Council meeting on April 16th at Santa Maria City Hall Chambers on their website: CityofSantaMaria.org
