In just 24 hours, a 69-year-old retiree from Britain, David Clarkson, achieved an extraordinary feat by visiting 120 pubs in Australia. This remarkable accomplishment earned him a place in the Guinness World Record books.

To make his record-breaking attempt, Clarkson began at the Captain Cook Hotel in Sydney and spent the next day walking to 119 more establishments, ordering a drink at each one. To ensure the accuracy of his record, Guinness World Records Adjudicator Pete Fairbairn accompanied him for the beginning and end of his journey. During the middle portion of his pub crawl, other witnesses joined Clarkson to collect evidence for Fairbairn to review later.

At the conclusion of his attempt, Clarkson reached the Sussex Garden Bar where Fairbairn officially certified his record. This impressive feat surpassed the previous record held by Australians Harry Kooros and Jake Loiterton who had visited 99 pubs in 24 hours. David Clarkson’s determination and perseverance allowed him to make history in a unique and memorable way.
