On April 9, the fourth annual Watertown Business Coalition Life Science Panel took place, focusing on the collaboration between the Watertown Public Schools and local life science companies. The event was organized by Watertown’s Merle Kummer and the group’s board.

The goal of the collaboration, known as CoLAB High School STEM Career Collaboration, is to inspire student interest in STEM careers and build new levels of self-confidence among students. The Life Science Panel was held at the Mosesian Center for the Arts and featured panelists from Addgene and Acrivon Therapeutics. Additionally, a Watertown High School Junior shared his experience of having a real scientist as a mentor.

The Watertown Business Coalition expressed pride in their partnership with life science professionals, emphasizing their commitment to mentoring students and nurturing future scientists. The event was captured on video by Watertown Cable Access Television, giving those who couldn’t attend the opportunity to watch and learn more about the important collaboration between the school system and local businesses.
