Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. has received a significant boost for its Hoyt Science Center Renovation and Expansion Project with a $1 million donation from alumni Will and Carol Jean Young Maurer. The Maurers, both graduates of Westminster College, were honored with the unveiling of the Maurer Atrium within the expanded wing of Hoyt Science Center. President Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson made the announcement of the Maurers’ generous contribution at the dedication ceremony.
The final phase of the Hoyt Science Center project will receive funding from this donation, which includes features such as a nursing simulation lab, the Harms Center for the Environment, department upgrades, and mechanical improvements. Additionally, as part of the Hoyt Science Center project, there was recently completed an expansion wing for the chemistry and biochemistry departments.
