Starting a career in healthcare is attainable, regardless of academic background. The Pre-Health Postbaccalaureate Program at Cal State Fullerton is designed specifically to help students with bachelor’s degrees in non-science fields become competitive applicants for health care schools. Through this program, students can take advantage of medical, dental, veterinary, optometry, physician assistant, and pharmacy programs.

One inspiring story from the program is that of Manpreet Luthra, who discovered his passion for medicine while serving in the U.S. Army. Through CSUF’s Pre-Health Program, he was accepted into the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Columbia and will be graduating this spring. Luthra recently received news of acceptance into a residency in emergency medicine.

Another student, Chanel Labasan, earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology before deciding to pursue a medical career. She chose CSUF’s Pre-Health Program due to its track record of successfully matriculating students into medical schools at an affordable cost. Labasan was able to secure acceptance into Western University through the linkage programs offered by CSUF.

Evan Chang is also a testament to the success of CSUF’s Pre-Health Program as he entered the program without any prior biology or science background and was accepted into Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine, one of the top dental schools in the U.S. These are just a few examples of the success stories that have emerged from CSUF’s Pre-Health Postbaccalaureate Program.
