Kellen Mond, a former quarterback who was not drafted this year, will be joining some of the prospects at the 49ers facility on Wednesday for a local Pro Day. According to Matt Barrows of TheAthletic.com, Mond will be working out with other prospects in the area as he tries to make an impression on the team. Although he was drafted by the Vikings in the third round of the 2021 draft, Mond only appeared in one game for them as a rookie and did not make the team the following year. In 2022, he played with the Browns but did not see any action on the field. Last year, he spent his time on the Colts’ practice squad.

Currently, Brock Purdy is listed as being backed up by Joshua Dobbs and Brandon Allen on San Francisco’s quarterback depth chart. With Purdy’s recent struggles and injuries, there has been speculation that someone like Mond could step up and challenge for a starting position next season. However, it remains to be seen whether or not Mond will be able to impress enough during his workout session to earn a spot on San Francisco’s roster.
