A hydroelectric power plant in Italy has suffered a devastating explosion that resulted in three deaths, three injuries, and six missing individuals. The incident took place around 3 p.m. at the Enel Group-owned plant located on Lake Suviana in Camugnano, Bologna. According to Marco Masinara, the mayor of Camugnano, the explosion was caused by a fire that broke out on the ninth floor of the plant, where work was being done on turbines.

Rescue operations are currently underway as teams attempt to reach the level of the accident and access the facilities. Luca Cari, head of emergency communication at the general command of the firefighters, stated that ten teams are working on the scene, with divers prepared to intervene.
