On April 3, 2024, Hawaiian Electric is set to begin using drones for aerial inspections of their infrastructure in the Kāʻanapali, West Maui area. The inspections will take place from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., as long as the weather permits.

Hawaiian Electric’s Hawaiian Electric Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) program is fully compliant with all Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
