Rory McIlroy has sought guidance from Butch Harmon, Tiger Woods’ former coach, as he aims to improve his game ahead of his latest quest to win The Masters. The world number two is determined to become only the sixth player to win all four men’s majors if he emerges victorious at the upcoming tournament.

Despite having a long-time coach Michael Bannon, McIlroy decided to visit Harmon for a golf lesson recently. The 80-year-old previously worked with Woods for his first eight major victories before parting ways in 2002.

Harmon has a distinguished coaching history, having guided Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Greg Norman to major victories. Meanwhile, McIlroy has yet to secure a win at Augusta National to complete the career Grand Slam, with his best finish being a second-place result in 2022 alongside five other top-10 performances.

Prior to meeting Harmon in Las Vegas, McIlroy shared a heartwarming moment with his daughter Poppy, who innocently questioned why he needed another golf lesson. Her simple insight resonated with McIlroy and reminded him that sometimes it is the best advice that comes from the most unlikely sources.
