Matt Corral, who was once a top NFL draft prospect, led the Birmingham Stallions to a road win over the Arlington Renegades in the first game of the UFL season. The Stallions, who won the USFL championship in 2023, had a close game initially with Arlington leading 11-3 until the end of the second quarter when Corral made a 39-yard touchdown pass to receiver Deon Cain.

The game was a solid performance for Corral, who completed 12 out of 21 passes for 201 yards and had one touchdown and one interception. He also contributed 25 rushing yards on four carries. Despite being a third-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2022, he proved his worth as an NFL player by leading his team to victory.

The Stallions had a total of 409 yards compared to Arlington’s 262 yards from scrimmage. Looking ahead, Birmingham will face off against Michigan next weekend while Arlington will play against Battlehawks in St. Louis. The outcome of this game will determine which team will advance to the next round of playoffs and take home the championship trophy.
