Kaua‘i District Health Office Invites Public to Open House Celebrating National Public Health Week

The Kaua‘i District Health Office is excited to host an open house in honor of National Public Health Week. The event will take place on April 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the district office located at 3040 Umi St. in Līhuʻe. This free event provides attendees with the opportunity to interact with Hawai‘i State Department of Health staff, learn about various programs and actions community members can take to address public health challenges, and explore public health career and educational opportunities.

Dr. Janet Berreman, Kaua‘i District Health Officer, emphasized the importance of National Public Health Week and the programs and services offered by DOH that contribute to community well-being. She expressed excitement for the event and the chance to thank the community and partners for their ongoing support in building a healthier and thriving Kaua‘i. Collaboration between different stakeholders is crucial in improving public health initiatives for the benefit of everyone in the community.

National Public Health Week, which takes place during the first full week of April each year, highlights the significance of public health and encourages communities nationwide to address critical health issues. This year’s theme, Protecting, Connecting, and Thriving: We Are All Public Health, underscores the importance of working together towards better health outcomes.
