The 49ers have reached a new agreement with a receiver, but it is not Brandon Aiyuk. Restricted free agent Jauan Jennings has signed a two-year contract with the team, as announced on Wednesday. Initially, reports suggested that Jennings’ contract was valued at up to $15.4 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed. However, he opted for the two-year deal that will keep him with the team until 2025.

Jennings was drafted by the 49ers in the seventh round in 2020 and after spending that season on the practice squad, he played in 16 games in 2021, 16 games in 2022, and 13 games in 2023. During last season, Jennings caught 19 passes for 265 yards and one touchdown. In the postseason, he had 10 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown, including four receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown in Super Bowl LVIII. Throughout his career, Jennings has recorded 78 receptions for 963 yards and seven touchdowns.
