Boston sports apparel brand ’47, originally known as Twins Enterprise, has been acquired by a Buffalo competitor, New Era. Despite the acquisition, ’47 will maintain its local headquarters in Westwood.

The D’Angelo family managed ’47 for many years, with Henry and Arthur D’Angelo creating an apparel company that became synonymous with the fan experience outside Fenway Park. The store located across Jersey Street from the ballpark was a popular destination for fans, particularly on game days. ’47 was renowned for being the first to produce team pennants, according to Major League Baseball.

New Era is a well-known company that specializes in making baseball hats, T-shirts, and other apparel. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for both companies and highlights the growing importance of sports apparel in today’s market.
