The couple had a smooth boarding process at Bristol airport and were not questioned about their boarding passes as they boarded the plane for Barcelona. They sat together in the second row, which was empty, without realizing that they were not supposed to be on the plane. It was only upon waking up that they realized they were actually in Lithuania, causing distress and confusion.

The pilot reprimanded the crew and arranged for the couple to reach their intended destination in Barcelona via Riga, Latvia. The journey, which was supposed to be a short flight from Copenhagen to Barcelona, turned into a 4,100-kilometer ordeal spanning two days. To make matters worse, their luggage was also left behind on the original flight.

The couple expressed surprise and disbelief at how such a mix-up could occur, especially considering how many times their boarding passes had been checked. An investigation has been launched by the airport assistance company responsible for overseeing such situations to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Despite facing challenges such as inconvenience and delayed travel plans, the couple eventually reached Barcelona after a long and unexpected journey. The experience left them shaken but also grateful for finally reaching their destination. This incident highlighted the importance of thorough checks and procedures to ensure that passengers are on the correct flights and minimize mix-ups in future travels.
