The Small Business Administration has announced $30 million in grant funding to support various projects at Women’s Business Centers. This funding includes the establishment of a new center in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Eligible organizations, including those that predominantly offer virtual counseling and training services to women-owned small businesses, can receive up to $150,000 to establish and run a Women’s Business Center. Currently, there are 152 in-person Women’s Business Centers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Christina Hale, Assistant Administrator for the SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership, highlighted the importance of these grants in providing training and assistance to women entrepreneurs. The grants will be distributed in four categories: support for women business owners in government contracting, entrepreneurial services for women-owned small businesses specializing in child care services, general entrepreneurial development services for women in areas without existing centers, and funding to establish a center in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

For questions regarding these grants, individuals can contact the SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership at owbo@sba.gov. This office was established in 1979 through an executive order.
