The ICC has announced that India will play their last-four match in Providence, Guyana if they qualify for the knockouts stage of the men’s T20 World Cup. The second semi-final is set to take place on June 27, with the first semi-final scheduled for Tarouba, Trinidad on June 26. Guyana can expect a significant influx of India fans in the lead-up to the semi-final.

The playing conditions for the tournament have confirmed that there will be no reserve day for the second semi-final. Instead, 250 minutes of extra time will be allotted to the match to ensure a result in case of weather interruptions. This additional hour of extra time is due to the tight tournament schedule, which allows for only a one-day gap between the second semi-final and the final.

The match timings are also worth noting as they likely played a role in India being allotted the Guyana semi-final. The second semi-final will start at 10.30am local time, which is more TV-friendly for viewers in India compared to the first semi-final starting at 6pm local time. The final in Bridgetown, Barbados is also scheduled to start at 10am local time or 7.30pm in India.

In case of persistent rain, challenges may arise as a decisive result can only be achieved if both teams have batted for at least ten overs each, which differs from most T20 games where a team only needs to bat for five overs for a result in shortened games.
