The 49ers public relations staff has been recognized by the Pro Football Writers of America as the winner of the 2024 Pete Rozelle Award. This award, which has been given out for 35 years, honors the professionalism displayed by the PR staff in their interactions with reporters covering the team. The 49ers are the 11th different team to receive this prestigious award in the past decade.

The other finalists for the 2024 Rozelle Award were the Cowboys, Raiders, Rams, and Dolphins. This award recognizes the importance of effective communication between teams and the press. Named after Pete Rozelle, who served as NFL commissioner from 1960 to 1989 and started his career in sports PR roles, this award highlights how crucial it is for teams to work towards excellence in their relationships with media members.

The 49ers football communications staff for the 2023 season included Corry Rush as vice president of football communications, Peter Volmut as director of football communications, Kristin Wojcik as manager of football communications, and Zackary Teats as coordinator of football communications. They were assisted by Caleigh Elkin as a football communications seasonal intern, Ellie Caple as director of communications and public affairs, Josh Stephens as senior manager of communications and public affairs, and Jacob Fill as senior coordinator of corporate communications.
